Before Booking a Car

Circle Car Rental puts extra effort into making sure you have a safe trip in Iceland. All cars are cleaned and sanitized before and after rentals. At the office our team frequently cleans touched surfaces and respects the social distancing.

When renting a car from Circle Car Rental, drivers must be at least 20 years old and must have held a drivers licence for 12 months.

You will need a valid driver’s license and a valid credit card. Additional drivers also need to show a valid driver’s license.

  • The license is valid as long as it is printed in the Latin alphabet and is valid for at least 12 months.
  • A valid credit card, if the renter does not have a credit card we do accept 16 digit number debit card.


Credit card payment is the best option to pay for your rental vehicle when you book online. The renter may also be able to book with a debit card if you have the online payment option available on it.

The renter, or someone traveling with the renter, also needs to submit a credit card on arrival when he picks up the vehicle. If you only have debit card we accept debit cards with a 16 digit number on the front.

We do not hold a deposit from our customers during the rental period.

We only need to see a valid credit card on arrival, we will only hold the imprint of the card as a guarantee. If the renter does not have a credit card, we do accept 16 number debit card.

The followings are included in the rental price rate:

  • Unlimited mileage
  • Third-party liability Insurance
  • Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
  • Collision Damage Waiver Insurance (CDW)
  • Theft Protection (TP)
  • Free transfer to/from International Airport
  • 24% VAT

Minimum rental period is 24 hours. Minimum chargeable amount is 48 hours. That means you can rent a car for 1 day (24 hours) or few hours, but we will charge for 2 days (48 hours).

Yes, we do offer the Platinum Insurance Package with zero self risk.

This package includes: 

  • CDW: Collision Damage Waiver
  • TP: Theft Protection
  • SCDW: Super Collision Damage Waiver
  • GP: Gravel Protection
  • SAAP: Sand and Ash Protection

After Booking a Car

Yes, you can change or modify your booking up to 1 hour before the car pick-up. If you would like us to do it for you, please send us an email at or fill out the form here and we will modify your reservation accordingly.

Our office is located at Flugvellir 6, 230 Reykjanesbaer in Iceland. Only 3 minutes driving from Keflavik International Airport. Free shuttle transfer to and from airport to our office.

If the vehicle you selected during the reservation is unavailable during pick up, we will supply you with a similar or higher category guaranteed. We, however, do not guarantee the brand and model.

Yes, we have 24/7 emergency breakdown assistance. The breakdown assistance is designed to help you in case of accidents and breakdowns. You can call our emergency hotline at anytime at +354 767-0022. 

A shuttle will pick you up at P1 parking lot, next to the airport departure all.

If you don’t find our staff at the airport, please call us +354-767-0022 and we will be there to pick you up in no time.

Yes, all of our rental cars have studded tires from the 1st of November through 15th of April.

After Vehicle pickUp

You return the car to our office and our team will drop you off directly to the departure hall at Keflavik Airport.

Yes, we offer 24/7 drop-off service at our car rental office. 

Unfortunately, no refunds can be given for unused, or partly used, car hire vouchers unless the amendments or cancellations have been made prior to the pick-up date.

In case of a cancellation, this is our policy;

  • Cancel more than 48 hours prior to the rental and get a full refund.
  • In case of a no-show or cancellation within 48 hours of pickup, we charge 100% of the rental amount.

Keep in mind that toll fees, parking fees and entrance fees are charged electronically in certain areas, ie. national parks and road tunnels in Iceland. Make sure to follow it closely and pay when required in order to prevent being fined and/or charged related cost due to not paying when required. Further information can be found here.
